No spell or grammar checking? Check your installation

After reading several threads on the problem I had of no spell or grammar check, and reading about changing the registry, I thought 'is it really that complicated?'
1. I re-ran the installtion
2. Add or remove features
3. Expanded Office Shared Features
and low and behold - Proofing Tools had a big nasty X by it, so I changed it to Run From My Computer, continued... and fixed!
I'm at a loss as to why it wasn't installed initially, but there you have it. I can only hope this helps others in the same situation.
