After creating a smartart diagram, for example Hierarchy, how do u move,
customize or reagrange the "lines" between the boxes?

You don't - the connectors are designed to correctly connect the shapes in
the diagram. If you move the shapes the connectors will adjust accordingly.
If you want a customized diagram use the AutoShapes tools to create what you
want rather than using the preconstructed SmartArt Objects.
