Post subject: how to prevent format convertion
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>excel>datamap (more info?)

Hi!

I'm doing this web download application. The data is
retrieved from database and file is created with the
FileSytemObject. This part is okay, but the problem is
that excel somehow automatically converts some cells to
date format. For example the cell contains text: 1 - 19
which automatically becomes january 19. or something... If
I open the file with notepad or wordpad the value is as it
should be(1 - 19), but the file should be opened with
Excel. Is there a way to avoid this automatic convertion
somehow?

Ville
