Every time I open a new document in word a text box always appears. Its truly
a pane in the butt to remove every time. How can I permantly delete this
annoying text box???? Thank you, Bill

Bill, it sounds as if your normal document template has the text box in it.
If you are using Word 2007, you will probably be able to modify the normal
template by dong this:

Click on the Office button
Choose Open then Trusted Templates
Choose the Normal template

Delete the textbox and save and close the template

Open a new blank Word document and see if this did the trick.
