Cannot find scanpst.exe on my machine. Where can I get it?

the file is there - did you turn on hidden files/folders?

I have the same problem (cannot find scanpst.exe on vista). I cannot find it
in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\scanpst.exe or in
C:\users\xxxx\appdata\local\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst

is there somewhere to get it?

Try in here:

C:/Program Files/Common Files/System/MSMAPI/1033

That's where I found mine.

I have not been able to find it and I've looked in all the places mentioned. How frustrating!

I have Vista and couldn't find it either!

It's hidden, so you have to do an advanced search (click bottom left start icon > then "search option", next check the box that reads "include non-indexed, hidden and system files (might be slow)" then and only then will it appear in a search. Gotta love Microsoft!

How to use the Inbox Repair Tool to repair my damaged PST file?

The Microsoft Inbox Repair Tool is a single-file executable program, file named Scanpst.exe.
By default, Microsoft Outlook will install the Scanpst.exe file within your Program Files folder, in
'C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033'.

If you can't find the Inbox Repair Tool, you can download it from here (http://www.emailaddressmanager.com/outlook/Scanpst.exe) then copy it to the above folder.
