Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>web>authoring (more info?)

Hi All,

Can we control the name by which a word file wil be saved on the users
machine?
For eg: I have a fiel called Newfile.doc.
When the user clicks on "Save As" the dialog box should have
"YourNewFile.doc" as the value in the save as field. Can this be done?

I also have another query.
I have a .dot file. When the user wants to save this fiel on his PC, it
allows him to save it as a .dot file. I want him to save this as a .doc file.
Would this work? If so, how do I go about it?

Thanks
Deeptha
