re-connecting tables

I don't use Word tables much, but I created a nice one-page "newsletter"
using it. I wanted to be able to copy and paste it as an email message.
However, I cannot seem to paste it into an Outlook Express New Message box
as it appears on my Word page. The top and bottom look great, but the
middle section is not in line and appears out to the right side and I am
unable to move it to its correct position.

Can someone with much more knowledge than mine please help me with this
problem? All assistance is appreciated. I did post this yesterday, but got
no response.

I used to be able to delete the ¶, but I must have something set differently
in this document because I can't delete it with the Delete key or even with
Ctrl+Delete. Something else is different too. When I split tables now, the
lower part jumps to the next page, and I can't get it back to the same page
as the upper part.

Making some progress. I highlighted the ¶, then went to Paragraph under
Format and saw the 'keep with next' box was not checked. When I checked it,
the lower part of the table came back to the same page as the upper part, but
I still can't delete the ¶.

Got it!! I had Track Changes on. When I turned it off, I could delete the
¶, and the table parts reconnected.

I'm glad you got it sorted. Indeed, Track Changes can be a source of
confusion.

For what it's worth, another common reason for trouble when merging tables
is that one of the tables has the "Text wrapping" set to "Around" (as
opposed to "None") in the Table Properties dialog box.

For others who do a search on this topic:
The previous suggestions did not resolve my issue of re-connecting a table I
had split (in MS Office 2007). The simplest thing was just to:
-- go back to the first table and insert the number of rows I needed at the
bottom
-- copy the content from the second table
-- paste it into the new rows in the first table
-- delete the second table
