When I was using word 2000, I could make the document have a blue background
with white letters, which was much easier on my eyes. Now that I upgraded
to Word 2007, it doesn't seem to have that option. Am I overlooking
something?

Hi Dave,

That option was originally added to Word for folks moving over from WordPerfect-DOS. It was dropped from Office 2007. Using the
Control panel display and/or accessibility settings will let you make some changes, but not just for Word. Sad

The option has been removed from Word 2007. The best you can do is change
the Display and perhaps also the Accessibility settings in Control Panel. Of
course, that kind of changes will not only affect Word.

You can change the Page Colour (on the Ribbon Page Layout tab) and get more
or less the same effect BUT the setting is document-specific and travels
with each document. If you just want this in a personal environment, it
might be sufficient. I suppose it would be possible with a few macros to
change every document to be blue when viewed by you but never to save the
setting.

Enjoy,
Tony

It's too bad they stopped it. It was easy on the eyes.

Hi. It's too bad they dropped it. It was easy on the eyes.
On Aug 3, you had responded to a question of mine about the "find" function
not working on Word 2007. I responded to your questions but I haven't heard
from you since. I thought maybe you were on vacation. Can you look up that
question and reply? Thanks in advance.

It really is too bad they dropped that setting. I use it at work on my Word
2003 machine. I use Word 2007 at home and really would appreciate how easy
the blue background w/ white text is on the eyes. If we are lucky, they
will bring it back in an update.
