Word 2007 does not send doc as e-mail, only attachment?

I am having the same problem - I have added the send to mail recipient button
to the QAT, but it is showing as disabled. How can I enable this option?
Does it have anything to do with having Word 2007 but an older version of
Outlook?

Probably, "Yes". Previously, the reverse was a problem.
