In Word 2007, is there a way to customize the display on each button of the
Quick Access Toolbar? I would like to include macros and the buttons would
simply have a letter rather than a picture - example a button with the
letter "M" to run the memo macro. Thanks,

Unfortunately, no. There is no customization at all for built-in commands.
Only for the buttons representing macros do you get any choice at all, and
that is limited to the icons offered.

If you are adding a macro to the QAT, you can click on the Modify button and
change the appearance of what appears on the QAT for that macro.

Hope this helps.
