Post subject: Word 2007 Quick Access Toolbar Issue
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>customization>menustoolbars (more info?)

I seem to be losing my third party command buttons from the quick access
toolbar.
I noticed that macro that is within a word template stays on the QAT, but
nothing else does.

Does anyone have a solution or a work around for this issue.

We are just in the test phase right now, but we will have 70 more Vista's
with Microsoft Office 2007 to distribute, and I do not want to go through the
headache with all end users having this problem.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mystique,

Are you using roaming profiles? If so, out of the box Office 2007 doesn't support them for the standalone .QAT files as described
in the 'new page layout'format MS Knowledge Base article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926805?FR=1

They should work for roaming profile with the application of the hotfix of
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958062?FR=1

The MS Office 2007 Resource Kit (ORK) http://microsoft.com/office/ork is being updated to also reflect that information

Mr. Buckland,

Sorry to get back to you so late. I have been looking everywhere for a
solution. We are not utilizing roaming profiles. Everytime my end users
..QAT command disappear we have just been replacing it with the original that
we saved into another folder. I noticed that our .QAT are actually sitting
in the C:\Users\User's Initials\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office.

So, what this hotfix is saying that I should move the .QAT into the
C:\Users\User's Initials\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office.

Is this correct?
