Post subject: Updating Caption Numbers
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>formatting>longdocs, others (more info?)

I have a Word 2007 document that was prepared by pasting from several other
documents. As a result the Caption Numbers are not sequential. I can
update each caption number by selection each one at a time and choosing
update field. Surely there is some way (short of VBA code) to update all
the captions at one time and have them all sequentially numbered.
