Turning off auto caps

I'm using Word 2007 w/ XP.

I want to turn off the function that puts a cap after ever period(.). Is
the only way to do that is to uncheck AutoCorrect/AutoCorrect "Capitalize
first letter of every sentence"?

If I correct it, is that word that I abbreviate automatically added to the
exceptions list?

Yes.

Yes, if you've left the check mark on the "Automatically add words to list"
option in the Exceptions dialog. Note that you don't have to expand the
AutoCorrect tag and choose "Stop AutoCapitalizing After"; you just have to undo
the capitalization as soon as it happens (by pressing Ctrl+Z).
