Post subject: Turn off French proofing when all other language settings say Engl Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>spelling>grammar (more info?)
I am having difficulty because my spell check or proofing says something
about French, but all of my settings I have set to English. How can get the
French part out of the proofing area of 'word options' or reset it to
English! I know I'm supposed to uncheck the 'find automatic language' or
something like that, but also where is that default setting so that all newly
opened pages don't automatically check?

I am having the same problem random French words in an apparently all
English machine/document, Vista with Office 2007. To uncheck the "Detect
Languages automatically", in Word go to Review Tab, Proofing Group, three
columns of icons should be fully displayed, if not right most (default)
middle icon is Set Language, but - it doesn't fix the problem. Sorry about
blank post. ..
