From time to time we need to transfer Outlook from one computer to another.
In my most recent case I needed to reformat and reinstall Windows XP on one
of my computer so I moved my .pst file to another computer will I am
reinstalling all of the software on the reformatted computer. From time to
time we need to do this for maintaninece or some other reason so we want to
know the best way to move our Outlook .pst files and Outlook setup and
account information to another computer.
When we move the .pst file to another computer all of our setup such as
Outlook Favorites and account information is missing.
Is there a way that we can move our Outlook setup and account information
without setting this up every time we move the .pst to another computer?

Without an Exchange server and a domain configuration, there is no reliable
way to transfer these settings from one machine to the other.
Since you mentioned you're working with pst-files, my guess is that this is
a home environment and not a corporate environment?

We have seven computer in our small architecture office. The computers are
networked. Does this qualify us as a home environment or a corporate
environment?
We had tried using Exchange but it didn't work for us.
It seems odd that those preferences are not in a file somewhere. I thought
that I had read on this forum that each persons Outlook preferences, Outlook
settings and Outlook favorites were stored in a system file somewhere.
Is the problem that transfering the preference/settings file is not a
reliable way to transfer those setting from one computer to another?
We are using Windows XP Home SP2 and Outlook 2007. Is there way to use the
File and Settings Transfer Wizard (Windows XP Home/Programs/Assesories) or
some third party software to transfer these setting from one computer to
another?
As to the e-mail Accounts we have always retyped these in and that is a time
consuming proposition. I have all of the same questions about the e-mail
account settings as I did above.
Any light or tips on how to automate the transfer of Outlook from one
computer to another would be greatly appreceated.
Thank you,
John

That would qualify as a home environment in terms of managing email. You
still haven't mentioned your mail account type which is kinda important to
make any meaningful recommendation.
