Word, by default, inserts pictures in line with text, so they behave as a
large font character (though the insert option is user configurable via Word
Options should you prefer some other insertion option). With in line
graphics, press the enter key before the graphic and again after and it
forms a paragraph of its own, wrapped top and bottom.
There are other wrap options which control how the text relates to floating
graphics, available from the Picture Tools tab, but as you have not
explained where you want the text, you can see the various options by
clicking 'more layout options' at the bottom of the text wrapping dialog.
