Hi
I have to create a 100 page document in Word, and on each page i need the
same graphic. i created a template and then created a new document from the
template, but when I go to the second page, the graphic is coming with me.

How do I get to set the graphic so that it appears on each page
Thanks for any help

You can put the image in a header or footer.

The image is vertical along left hand edge - top to bottom

I don't think what you want is possible with Word. Some programs let you
define a page template that contains items that will be on every page,
but Word does not have this feature.

You can anchor the image to the header but position it outside the header
area; it will then repeat on all pages using that header. See
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/AnchorToHeader.htm.
