Table of Value Ranges

What function can I use to analyze numerical data in a column and return the
number of items into a table showing ranges of values? Such as X no. of
items in value range $600 to $1,000; X no. of items in value range $1001 to
$2,000, etc. Thanks!

The countif function will do this. I have posted an example at
www.tejniya.co.uk, under documents and excel.
