Post subject: Spell Checker suggestions Greyed out in Word 2007/XP Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>spelling>grammar (more info?)
Hi when i run spell/grasmmar checker the box pops up and the suggestions are
greyed out an "undo edit" is my only option
I have removed the program, and deleted the word folder before reinstalling
with no change.

I see where you have posted this problem a couple different places. I too
have this problem within word and outlook. I have an XP Pro machine running
SP3 and AVG as my anti virus solution. If anyone knows about this issue or a
possible solution let me know and i will be happy to help.
I have only noticed this problem within the past week or so but when you run
spell check all of the options are grayed out except for undo edit. When you
click on it however within a few moments everything is grayed out again
except for undo edit.

i have been having the same problem with word in 2007 the suggestions are
greyed out also do you have any suggestions i have also tried uninstalling
the program and it is still grayed out any suggestions?

I have this problem as well...does any idea how to fix it it makes it
practically impossible to spell check anything as you have to click undo edit
and then pick the right one repeatedly

Has anyone figured out how to fix this? I am having the same issue but have
found no resolution. Please help! I can't live without my spell checker!!

I haven't yet....I've checked a lot of different things, but don't know how
to fix it, it makes me want to do a system restore, but i would really like
to know the solution....Hopefully some geek will come along and solve it for
us.
I HOPE a geek will come along in any event....

I spent nearly 90 minutes on the phone with Microsoft tech support trying to
figure this out. They tried several things & nothing worked. Last option
needed me to have the Office CD & I didn't have it. I work from home & all
the CD's are kept at the office. Won't be in the office till Thurs, so they
are supposed to call back then when I have the CD. We shall see....
