Post subject: Setting Default Language in Outlook 2003
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>outlook>contacts (more info?)

Please help, I'm a very frustrated non-techie. MY PC went through a complete
uninstall and reinstall last week - due to bad behaviour. Before the
clean-out I was able to change the default language from US English to
either Canadian English or UK English in Outlook 2003, MS Word 2003 and MS
Publisher 2003. But since the restoration the system will not retain any
changes. I tried making the changes through Microsoft Office 2003 Language
Settings as well as in the different applications, but the change(s) will not
keep, the moment I close the menu it reverts to the defaulted US English .
The "Continue and lose customizations" that is supposed to appear after a
change is made via Microsoft Office 2003 language settings doesn't appear at
all.

As well, when I customize a tool bar the changes won't stay there. It all
worked fine before the computer was "fixed." Please help before I throw the
wretched PC out the window! I really need these functions to work.

Thanks (in advance anticipation).

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

toolbar problems: do you have acrobat or other addins that add toolbars?
some poorly written addins will screw up the toolbars.

have you activated office? are you running as a user or admin?
