Post subject: Screen Freezes when using clip art for Word 2007 Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>docmanagement (more info?)
Each time I try to use the clip art function in Word 2007, my screen freezes
up. The only way to unlock this is to go to Task Manager and end task.

Hi J.P,
For Office 2007 the clipart engine basically tries to access the online graphics collection and if it's not been given access
through the firewall you can see this behavior (not just in the 2007 version) while the clipart manager app is trying to connect to
where it thinks the pictures are .
If you let it sit for about 5-10 minutes does it 'let go'.

This was kind of helpful - tells us where the potential problem might be.
Do you have a solution on either how to allow Firewall access or to disable
Word attempting to access online.
