Vista Home Premium, Outlook 2007.
When I create a new email message and type say 'Steve' I want it to only
present me with the Steves in my Contacts. However, I get those plus every
Steve in every email I have received or sent in my folders. Can I get it to
restrict the suggestions to my Contacts only?

This is when you start typing in the To field? It should only use people you
have sent mail to recently - you can't disable it for people not in your
contacts and keep it for people in contacts - you can only disable it for
all addresses.
Tools, options, email options, advanced options- suggest names near the
bottom.

Thanks Diane, that makes sense, although it is a shame it can't be disabled
for people not in contacts.
How recently is 'recently'?

you can disable it and use autoresolve to fill in the addresses from your
address book. or you can delete the other names as they appear - select the
name and press Del.

The most recent 2,000 addresses to which you've sent mail.
