I did a fresh install of Windows 7, then installed Outlook.
My appointment reminders aren't firing. Nothing appears to happen at all.
How can I get the old functionality back, where a window would pop up
reminding me of the appointment?

Outlook version? In what folder are you placing the items with reminders?
