Post subject: Receiving Email Setup in Outlook 2007 BCM
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>outlook>bcm (more info?)

My network consist of an 64 bit Windows Small Business Server 2008 with 32
bit Windows XP Professional Clients attached.

I have setup Outlook 2007 BCM on each client computer with each assigned to
one Outlook 2007 BCM Sql server 2005 database that is shared with all the
other client Outlook 2007 BCM's databases. I had no problem with setup,
except that I am unable the establish the Email Link to my email address.

I have tried sending myself email from my yahoo email account without any
success.

Any help in how to establish an Email link would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Ed

You mean that an Outlook client does not receive email? If so, BCM
doesn't control email. Outlook manages email the same way, wheher BCM
is installed or not.

Thanks Luther,

I am unable to receive email in outlook 2007 period. Since my previous post,
I have replaced my Linksys 4-Port BEFSX41 Broadband Firewall Router with a
Linksys 16-Port Business RV016 VPN Router which is setup as a router. I have
reinstalled Windows Small Business Server 2008 with Exchange 2007 Server and
reinstalled Windows XP Pro on my two client computers with Windows Office
2007 Professional and Outlook 2007 BCM with both sharing the same database.
Doing this was a piece of cake without any problems. However I can still send
but not receive any email. Hopefully someone will see what I am during that
is wrong in my configuration instead of me having to get help from Microsoft.

Thanks to all in advance for your help.

I have failed to add that I host my email on my Windows Small Business
Server 2008 also.

For Outlook email matters, I would go to microsoft.public.outlook for
help. BCM really isn't involved in connecting Outlook to the mail
server.
