Archived from groups: microsoft>public>excel>charting (more info?)

Hello everyone

I know this must be easy but I am having a brain freeze and just can't seem
to think of how to do this.

I have a piviot chart and the x-axis has dates. It is currently displayed
as "7/31/08" and I want it to be "Jul-08". I've gone into the format area
for the x-axis and chosen number then date and the "Jul-08" as the format but
it doesn't change the format on the chart. It still shows as 7/31/08. Is
there some type of protection perhaps that I need to turn off? HELP I really
need it to be Jul-08

The pivot chart number formats are controlled by the field format in the
pivot table.
Right-click a date in the pivot table
Click on Field Settings
Change the Number Format to the date format that you want.
