In Office 2003, our "New Image" MST transform included Outlook settings for a
new Profile for example User Name %UserName% and Exchange Server name. The
transform automatically installed a custom11.prf in the c:\program
files\microsoft office folder.
We are trying to figure out how to do this in Office 2007. I have created
an MSP file with the OCT, that includes the exact same settings but when I
install the MSP it does not create a new Office 12 prf file. When you start
Outlook, the Outlook startup wizard comes up. While it does do an
autodiscover, it still is 4 or 5 steps for the clients to click before their
Outlook is configured. Is it possible to have it so that it works like 2003
and there are only 2 clicks and their Outlook is immediately configured?

You can set your Outlook settings at the bottom part of the OCT.

I have made all the changes in the OCT for Outlook. However when I install
based on the new MSP, there is still an Outlook Startup wizard that comes up,
when you open Outlook. I want to eliminate those steps and have it
immediately configure a new profile based on the settings.

Are all other settings from the msp-file applied correctly?
Do you force the uninstall any previous version of Office first before
installing Office 2007?
Are there any residue files in the Office11 folder?
You can use the OCT tool to remove these as well.
It's hard to determine where you go wrong without exact steps to reproduce.

Yes the other settings are applied correctly. Yes I do force the uninstall
of previous version of Office. Yes there are residue files because Access
2003 Runtime is left on the workstation. I also noted that the Office 2003
prf is left in the c:\program files\microsoft office folder.
Is the expected behaviour for a new outlook profile to "always" see the
startup wizard regardless whether you added username/exchange server
information?

Delete that prf-file (via OCT or other methods) and also check for reference
to that file in the registry.
No, when you apply a prf-file via the OCT the configuration of Outlook
should be silent.

How do you know if a Outlook 2007 PRF is created? Does it create a file
automatically similar to the Office 2003 install? Where does it put the
file? I can't seem to find it, so I don't think it is creating one or using
one.
