In previous versions of Outlook if i had several outlook windows opened at
the same time (one each for Inbox, Calendar, Contacts. etc.) they would re
open once i closed and re opened outlook provided i use the file / exit way
of closing the program.

this ain't working with outlook 2007. if i close outlook when multiple
outlook windows are opened and then re open outlook it just opens the one
window.

anyone else come across this?

Nope, still works for me.
Disable all your addins and try again.
Also verify that the outlook.exe process actually quits before starting it
again.

See http://www.msoutlook.info/question/88
I don't know if BCM could cause this; all addins could be suspect. To test
you can also create a new mail profile without BCM in it.
