Hi,
Sorry for the confusion of your Outlook version. Please ignore step 2 in my
previous response and just try step 1.
Ofcource it is not a good idea to not use Word 2007 as Outlook 2007 e-mail
editor, but this is just a troubleshoot steps that can help us narrow down
the issue and find the root cause more efficiently.
Thanks for your time on this issue!

You cannot not use WordMail in Outlook 2007, there is no other option.
WordMail now uses a stub DLL for WordMail and does not subclass word.exe.
There is no Outlook email editor in Outlook 2007 at all.

This problem might be caused by Windows Desktop Search.
WDS sometimes runs even after user has exit outlook.
If you are using XP/Server 2003, upgrading to WDS 3.01 is suggested.
This solution works for me, although it still occurs occasionally.

Hi
I am running Outlook 2007 in Windows Vista. I have tried the various
remedies within this thread to no avail. The new profile I have created
doesn't have the data file error - but then there is very little in it!
I have also run the scanpst.exe prgram which comes with Outlook (as
recommended in the Outlook help section of this website). This seems to fix
the issue for a short time (eg one close and re-open) but then I am back to
the same error.

"Very little in it?" Why? Did you not migrate your data to the new profile?

Hi - thanks for your fast response. Probably because the suggestion didn't
say to do that and the link didn't explain how to do it - I thought the
suggestion was just testing whether a new profile would work or not.
What do I need to do?
Thanks

Just open your previous data file in the new profile and set it to be your
default.
