I have set Outlook 2000 to send emails in text not in Word format.
I am not familiar what and were is the Event Viewer

You are running an unpatched version of Outlook 2000. Start with applying
Office 2000 Service Pack 3 and additional updates.

That is because you don't have SR1 installed yet either.
It's on the download page with a link to SR1;
"Note Prior to installing SP3, you must install Office 2000 Service Release
1a (SR1a) Update."
