Hi All,

Word documents open in the browser whenever users on my site click on a link
to a document. Is it possible to open the documents directly in Microsoft
Word?

please let me know if this can be done? If yes, how.

Thanks a lot
Deeptha

Hi Deeptha,

Your site visitors control how documents display on their computer.
It's not something you control.

Bob,

Where do my users find this setting? I have an issue where some folks can
open a web-posted Word doc, and it opens just fine, in Word. For others it
opens in Internet Explorer. What change do I make to stop it from opening in
Internet Explorer?

Thanks a bunch, Susan

One method (which some visitors will find annoying) is to ONLY offer the
Word.doc in a ZIP file (requiring downloading), thus the file will not
open online and rather, from their local temp folder.
