Using office XP, word worked fine, now just started to crash every time we
try to open it. reads: Word failed to start correctly last time...etc. asks
to start in safe mode. If yes, starts in safe mode if no, get microsoft has
experienced a probem and needs to close...etc. If you recover and restart,
does the same thing. I tried uninstalling and re-installing with no luck.

no normal.dot file available to change, tried changing the registry key, no
love. I'm still on the network, no network printer conflicts. I don't use
norton antivirus. Still no good.

I have done the searches, and they always come up negative. Plus, everytime
I open word, it's always blank. I can't find one

If you can't find normal.dot, you have to select the option to search hidden
files and folders.
I had this problem. Reinstalled Office, etc. Finally deleted all instances
of normal.dot (I had three) and the problem went away.

Please find Normal.doc templete from the following location
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Templets
Delete the Normal.doc file, winword automatically creates the file.
All times are: Eastern Time (US & Canada) (change) Goto page 1, 2
