I have a Word template. I would like to write an Outlook macro to
print a document from the template using info from aa contact object
passed from Outlook.

Any suggestions or pointers as to where to look would be much
appreciated!

There are various examples at www.outlookcode.com, one might be
http://www.outlookcode.com/threads.aspx?forumid=3&messageid=12098. Search
there for "Word template" and look at the search results for other examples.
