Hi

After applying Micrsoft Patch MS08-045 KB953838, Internet Explorer is
opening the file in Internet Explorer, instead of opening the file in the
appropriate Office program. The other thing if you have Word document open
and you open a file from Internet browser the document will flash on the
task bar until you click on it then it will open the document in IE. This
is never happen before this the first time after applying Microsoft patch.

I created a regkey to force word docuement to open with Word from IE
browser; However I couldn't get the document not to flash on the taskbar.

Thanks
I will try this option, but I have 520 PCs. I don't know if this is an option.

Maybe just reregistering Word will work, but Detect and Repair is 'more
reliable'.

From the RUN command, type in

winword /r

and press enter. Test again now.

Hi
I've tried the repair it didn't do the trick, it still flashing the task bar
if you have nother word document open. This an issue in Office 2007 SP1
according to Microsoft, but I don't know why this happening in Office 2003
SP3.
