I am familiar with Access with its "can shrink, can grow" parameters. I was
wondering if the same type of thing is available when embedding excel sheets
into word.

Hi gm66,
If you insert an Excel worksheet as a linked object, and use a named range in both Excel and Word to identify the range to be
linked, then the displayed object in Word will resize to match changes in the named range in Excel. Ordinarily, when you insert an
Excel worksheet as a linked object, Word uses explicit cell references. You can change those to a named range by editing the field
code in Word after creating the link (Alt-F9 toggles the field code display).
