Post subject: Excel Crashes when attempting to format cell or plot Archived from groups: microsoft>public>excel>crashesgpfs (more info?)
As the subject says, Excel halts when I try to format cells or plots. I get a
window that asks if I want to send an error report to Microsoft. If I click
on "What does this data report contain?" I get an error signature window. If
I slect "View the contents of the error report" I get a scrolling window with
a bunch of 'module' information and a long list of hexadecimal data (and
corresponding ASCII characters). It also gives me a temporary file location
for the report, a CRV file which I do not know how to view (I don't think I
have4 a hex viewer and I don't know if the report contains anything
meaningful to me).
I have tried repairing the installation of office, but not a full uninstall.
Does anybody have any solutions / recommendations?

Bradley,
I experienced the same problem and resolved it when I realized it was
related to the printer that I had selected as default. When I changed to a
different printer, the problem went away. The printer selected as default
affects Excel.
