Lost my dictionaries in Microsoft word. Like to know in what directory they
are normally located.

What do you mean by 'lost' in this case? The Dictionaries are installed
according to language from the Office installer. Personal dictionaries can
be anywhere, and the default location is version specific.

I suspect you will find
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/MasterSpellCheck.htm useful.

Thanks a lot I will look into it. Sometime ago a friend of mine send me the
German gr ? file and the location in Microsoft word to installed. But I did
forget the file name and the location in windows to install it into. On my
old computer I do have about 20 different language option on the new one
here I only have 5. If I find the location where the data is stored her I
can transfer the files from the old commuter into it.

If you had the Word 2003 proofing tools installed on your previous computer,
you can still install those tools with Word 2007 - see
http://www.gmayor.com/office_2003_proofing_tools.htm. The common file
location for installed spelling dictionaries is C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\PROOF.
