We have an inhouse application that uses Word templates for the legal
department. There are several templates that when used will spell check the
template in Spanish and only some of the paragraphs. It will spell check
whatever modifications they make to the template in English. And it only
happens to some users. I've tried changing the language settings in all the
places I know:
start-programs-microsoft- micosoft offices tools- language settings.
In Word itself. I've hightlight all the text and set to English. which it
will do but when we close that one file up and re-open the same file they
just made changes to , it will go back to spell checking in Spanish.

i set the language to english, changed the keyboard and we closed the
doucment and then she would open it back up, type something in, close it and
reopen it, when we tried to spell check, it would only spell check the one
paragraph in the template in Spanish, not what she typed in. and it also
reverted back to spanish even though i changed the style to English. when i
revealed formatting for the one paragraph, it said spanish traditional, and
it keeps going back to that when we modify the document.

I'm having a similar problem with a Word file - spell check is defaulting to
Spanish when I want English.

Have you found a solution?

Thanks-
Ann
