I am trying to setup Outlook through my laptop to connect to my clients
outlook. He wants me to create an email address from his company. I opened
outlook and it asked me to choose options and I am not at familiar with
outlook setup. Can someone give me a walk through of what I need to make this
possible? Thank you

Let me get this straight:

Your client wants you to create an email address within his company?
You are also trying to set up your laptop to connect to his Outlook?

You may want to define a little more clearly what your ultimate goal is in
this circumstance.

You need to know how to connect from the outside (internet) to within the
company, if a VPN connection or other method of connection is required. You
need to know what type of mail account to set up plus it must be set up on
his mail server first before involving Outlook. This would involve
understanding his network set up, if Active Directory is involved.

I would recommend you discuss this with the network administrator on site to
find out what the requirements are to be able to connect remotely to their
network. Also, the network administrator should be able to set up the
requested email account on the server.

As for connecting to your client's Outlook which is taken to mean his email
account, are you sure this is what is requested? Outlook is simply an email
client. What is it you're trying to accomplish by connecting to his OutlooK?

You can't connect two outlook's - it's not a server. What type of email
server does the client use? Are you an admin on his mail server?

Good Morning,

I appreciate your immediate response. Ultimately what I am trying to do is
create my own email address from his address. For example.
Shina RemoveThis @SteveDimowitz.com. I have to set up my outlook so that my emails
sending and receiving are being shown from that email address. How do I go
about doing this?

You can't create an email address. The admin of the mail server must create
the address before you can set up the account.

Hello again,

That's what I was thinking as well, unfortunately he did not set up his
account email address. He is the admin however. How can he create the address
in order for me to create mine and connect?

You can configure Outlook to present any sender address you want. Just open
the account and change the "E-mail Address" field. That doesn't mean,
though, that you'll be able to receive messages sent to that address. For
that you'll need a mailbox on the mail server for that domain.

You'll have to ask him if *he* can do it. Someone will have to.
