Post subject: Controlling image names when converting doc Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>conversions (more info?)
I need to know If I can control the name of the Image files that the word
document creates such as Image0001, etc
reason is I have to create an HTM file using Word, (to maintain the TABS and
space alignment, in the final output)
and there will be many such documents, and these documents will be inserted
during run time into another HTM file, in such a case the Image name
reference is wrong and the output does not come the way I would want it.
I have seen similar post in this forums but that still does not answer the
basic question,
any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

No

Have you checked the web view of your document. The requirements of html
formatting are widely different from Word document formatting. The result is
not what you see on screen in print layout view.

Word is a poor application for creating web pages, produces ugly code and is
probably best avoided.

You can open the html file in a text editor (or with Word 2003 - the script
editor, ALT+SHIFT+F11) and edit any of the references directly to whatever
you want them to be.

Use FrontPage (or some other dedicated web creation tool of your choice) to
create your web pages.
