Post subject: Continuous paragraph numbering across different sections Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>numbering (more info?)
Hi,
In old versions of Word, you were given a simple option in the drop-down
numbering menu of whether you wanted your next set of paragraph numbers to
continue on in the next section of a document from where you left off, i.e.
your first section's paragraphs were numbered 1-8, so you could choose your
second section's paragraphs to be numbered 9-18.
But in Word 2007, this menu option has disappeared. Why? And how can I
insert paragraph numbers in this way please?

You can use the right-click (context) menu to restart and continue numbered
lists. But note that if you do want continuous numbering, it will be easier
to apply a numbered style such as List Number.
