I'm running Outlook 2002.

Contacts are being automatically added to my Contacts folder as I email
people.
This is starting to drive me nuts, as I email many people for whom I do not
want permanent contact information stored for.

Can anyone tell me where to turn this feature off?

Only Outlook 98 and 2000 had that feature in Internet Mail only mode. Not sure where you are getting that from.

Yes, I've read that in other forums - but it is happening.
I have added no VBA code, or add-ons...

I am running an Outlook connector to a remote server. Is it possible that
this is occuring at the server level?

I've checked it out, and it is the connector client that is doing it.

Turned the option off there, and away we go.

Are you seeing their names appear in the To... field as you start typing?
Or did you actually look in the Contacts Folder and see them in there?

The names that show when you type in the To.. field are nothing to do with
your Contacts. It's a cache of the 2000 most recently emailed people. You
can turn it off at Tools | Options | Email Options | autocompletion ....
