Since upgrading to 2007, I wonder is there anyway to change the "print what"
default in Excel 2007. Currently the default is set to print the whole
workbook...I never print the workbook always the worksheet. I know you can
click the current worksheet button...but in 2003 I didn't have to do
that...this is driving me crazy. Is there a way to change it so the default
is set to current worksheet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same problem except that it's with Excel 2003. Somewhere
along the line my default setting for the 'print what' options in the print
dialogue has been changed from printing just the active worksheet to printing
the entire workbook which is causing me no end of grief.
Even when selecting 'active worksheet' and previewing, once the preview
window is closed the 'print what' setting has changed itself back to print
entire workbook, which is frequently causing hundreds of spurious pages to be
sent to my printer. I cannot find any default setting options to change it
back. This is most frustrating.
To make matters worse I've got a feeling that as I send excel workbooks to
clients on a regular basis, some have reported experiencing the same problems
with their own workbooks that have had nothing to do with mine, but with the
problem manifesting itself only since I've uploaded or emailed workbooks to
their system that I've modified and saved on my own system suggesting that
the problem is spreading....

Ok, I think we are stuck with this one...contacted Microsoft & they can't
figure it out either. They told me to uninstall Excel & reinstall
Excel...done that & still have the same problem. Don't know that I want to
contact Microsoft again. If anybody figures this out...PLEASE post it.

This is bloody hell annoying isn't it? Both my Excel versions 2003 and 2007
are now doing this default to "Entire Workbook". I'm so used to having it
only print the active sheet...I forget and end up printing 10 pages more than
I wanted half the time.
I'll be damned if I'm going to "reinstall" another application at the
suggestion of Microsoft...last time it took me months to recover after
following their suggestion vis-a-vis VISTA. Grrrrhhrr!

Yes..........forgetting to check the "print what" before printing is very
annoying.
Perhaps a print macro to print activesheet or selected sheets only would save
you a whole bunch of stress.
