In Word 2003 one can assign a shortcut command to a style i.e. Heading 1 is
Alt+H1 and Heading 2 can be Alt+H2 etc. So useful. I cannot find the same
option in Word 2007. Can anyone assist please.

Office Button | Word Options | Customize: Keyboard shortcuts. The categories
include Styles as before.

You can also get there from the Modify Style dialog box for the style you
wish to assign. Press Ctrl+Shift+S, select the style you want in the list,
and click Modify. Click the Format button at the bottom, and choose Shortcut
key.

Thank you so much. This is exactly what I was looking for. Besides the first
part it is exactly like 2003. Many thanks

I don't see Keyboard shortcuts under Customize.

In the bottom left corner of the Customize window (below the commands list),
there is a Customize... button to the right of the words "Keyboard
shortcuts." Click on that to open the Customize Keyboard dialog, then choose
Styles in the Categories list.
Alternatively, right-click on a style in the Styles window and choose
Modify. In the Modify Style dialog, choose Format | Shortcut key...
