Nope, from the OP's site.

I really must read some new web design books. I'm tired of only
recommending the same two, but they're still the _only_ ones I'm happy
to. Everything else is misleading dross. Surely there's a few other
good ones out there? Any suggestions? (and please, no Cederholm)

Ah, sorry; I thought he got *his* reference from the OP's site.

And those two books would be....? I'd love to know! This doesn't have
to be the only one I ever read (and judging from the discouraging
comments, it shouldn't!)

Pretty discouraging to see the book I'm enjoying so much being
slagged... sigh... but nevertheless I must soldier on. I know I have
had lots of "aha" moments and recognized earlier inefficiencies in how
I wrote earlier CSS code so it's definitely got some merit. And there
are reference/example links to online sources like A List Apart that I
do recognize as being quality resources... so that's also encouraging.

PS - No clue why the conflicting (well, cascading) font size specs. He
certainly doesn't say to do that in the book...!

As I remember[1], Andy recommends

Cascading Style Sheets: Designing for the Web (2nd Edition),
ISBN 0-201-59625-3
and
Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML, O'Reilly
<http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/059610197X/>

The first one was already mentioned upthread.

[1] I, too, wish Andy would read some new web design books. I'm tired of
him recommending the same two. Wink
