Well, you don't have to be nerdy, to know the difference between a
newsgroup and a "forum". Anyway, since you won't post here anymore,
you'll probably never know - what a loss...

as to the difference between a newsgroup and a forum...

Mainly, one is associated directly with Usenet (a newsgroup) while the
other is - typically - associated with websites(forums). Many websites
try to pass off Usenet as being a "forum" that is unique to that
website. Google Groups being a huge offender in that category.
