Post subject: email that looks like and acts like a website
Archived from groups: macromedia>dreamweaver (more info?)

I want to send out an email that looks like a web page and has links. So I
built a simple webpage and put it on my server. Here is the page
www.kzovideo.com/janemail.html. I want to have this page show up in emails that
I send out. I use Outlook express.
My site has 2 links. The links are image maps. My site is a single jpg image.

To get the page in Outlook I click next to the Create Message button in
Outlook and go to the pull down menu that says "web page". I then type in my
site's URL as www.kzovideo.com/janemail.html and the site shows up in the
email. But, when I hit the Preview button at the bottom of the email page I get
a red x and do not see my site. I have tried sending it to people and they do
not see my site in the email either.

Anyone know where I have gone wrong?

Thanks

Mickey

This code has to show the link as absolute, not relative:

<img src="januaryemailpostcard.jpg

Needs to be http://www.kzovideo.com/januaryemailpostcard.jpg

Yeah, that is it, we typed at the same time.

Make sure your email list all can view email as an html, otherwise, include one of those "trouble viewing this email, click here" lines at the top.
