Although I have a color printer, my Dreamweaver 8 code prints out in black and white. Is there a setting in Dreamweaver to make that happen? Thanks.

A settings? Nope, sorry - just as Murray said.

An alternative is to copy & paste your code from Dreamweaver into Notepad ++
and print it out in color from there
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm .

HTH, take care.

I had the same question. I got my answer. I guess I will be opening my code with textpad.exe to print in color.

If you are working with the Windows version and have Homesite available it does
a nice job of color code printing. I use it all the time.

I really wish Dreamweaver had this functionality. (I have requested it in the
past.)

I don't think it ever makes it high enough on the todo list. Given the
kinds of things that are in each new version, I'm not surprised. It's a low
priority thing in my opinion....

But you can always renew your request here -

Presumably when you have to choose which other task with a higher importance
you will forego, it is. But keep pushing.

I submitted my feedback on this matter as well. Here is what I wrote:

*******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature:
Print Code in Color

How would you like the feature to work?
Edit > Preferences > Code Coloring a check box labeled "Print Code in Color"
with a default of checked.

When the user is working in code mode, the syntax highlighting would be
retained when the document is sent to the printer. So the code prints in color
and not in black in white.

Homesite did this and its a shame and irritation to resort to that product
just for this. Oh, and it doesn't see all the new tags properly so there is
that inconsistency as well.

Why is this feature important to you?
There are times when I get so far in development that I need to visualize on
paper how I can change logic around. Rather than hacking through the code the
color print out makes it easier to read the code and play with it off line.

Color printing makes it easier to share the document in a meeting of my
developers to help review a technique or resolve a problem.

It really just makes common sense to do it. Why would you visually present
one thing and then physically present it another way?

I really hope this can be worked into a priority, its bee an issue for over 3
years. Its not a deal breaker but is it that hard to roll out?
